Many clogged drains are caused by items that shouldn’t be put down the drain. Here’s a list of things you should never put down your drain:
- Cotton swabs: Many people use cotton swabs to clean their ears and tend to throw them down the drain afterwards. Cotton easily clogs your drain.
- Produce stickers: You shouldn’t put stickers down the drain in general. Sometimes it happens by accident if you’re cutting apples or another fruit over the sink. To avoid this, take the sticker off before cutting.
- Paint: Some cities have certain rules and regulations for disposing of paint and dumping paint down the drain isn’t usually allowed. If you pour paint down your drain, the chemicals could end up in your water supply.
