Clogged drains can be annoying because they cause your sink to pool with water and can damage your pipes. The best way to get rid of a drain clog is by preventing them all together. If you can’t prevent the clog, then you have to clear it out. The first thing to try when getting rid of a clog is a plunger. Create a tight seal and pump up and down for around a minute. Repeat this until the drain is unclogged. If the plunger doesn’t work the next best thing to try is baking soda and vinegar. Take ½ cup of baking soda and vinegar and mix them together. Pour the mixture down the drain and let it sit for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, wash out the drain with warm water. If these methods don’t work, you most likely have a severe clog that only a professional could unclog.
