Tips for your Sump Pump

If your basement starts to flood, your sump pump is the only thing that can save your basement. If it’s not working properly, you will have a pool in your basement. Even if it’s summer, I don’t think you would want a pool in your basement. Check out these tips to keep your sump pump working properly:

  • Clean your sump pump: Cleaning your sump pump regularly will help to stop gunk and dirt from getting stuck. You should clean your sump pump at least once a year.
  • Clean drainage pipes: Check the pipes for any clogs or debris in them. If you can’t clean the pipes, call a professional right away.
  • Test your sump pump: Pour some water in the sump pump to make sure it is working properly before a storm comes.
